Jamie Newman might be a great value pick for the Broncos in late rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft

Broncos Country Tonight talks Jamie Newman with Tim Jenkins. Would he be a good late round pick for the Denver Broncos?

On Broncos Country Tonight with Ryan Edwards and Benjamin Allbright on Thursday, they brought on Tim Jenkins who is all quarterbacks all the time. This time, they broke down Wake Forest quarterback Jamie Newman who could be a fantastic steal early on Day 3 if the Denver Broncos are in the market for a mid to late round quarterback.

Newman, who opted out of the 2020 season, impressed greatly in 2019. He completed 61% of his passes for 2,868 yards with 26 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions. He also added another 574 yards rushing and six touchdowns on the ground that season.

He did play in the Senior Bowl this year, so there is some recent tape on him after sitting out all of last season. Jenkins also went through a more detailed breakdown of Newman today. All of his videos are must watch for breaking down quarterback film.

Newman sounds like a guy who would be great to come into a situation where he can develop on the sidelines for the first year. If Denver sticks with Drew Lock, it would likely mean Newman wouldn’t be a great fit here in the Mile High City.

Even so, he looks like a fun player but definitely a developmental type quarterback in Year 1.
