According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Denver Broncos are among the teams to be a top contender to trade up in the first-round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Broncos currently have the 9th overall selection in the first-round of the 2021 Draft but could be eyeing a trade up for a quarterback. Rapoport also mentions the Patriots who hold the 15th overall selection as a team who is all gauging the trade market.
This isn’t surprising news as the Broncos appear to be eyeing the quarterback market and look primed to move up if they like one of the remaining prospects.
As of today, the first three picks appear mostly settled. Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence is going number one overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars and BYU’s Zach Wilson is going to the New York Jets. Now, the San Francisco 49ers are a bit of a mystery but the Mac Jones rumors appear to be real and he could be their selection. After these three picks is when the draft really begins.
The Atlanta Falcons with the fourth overall pick could go a quarterback, could go tight end/weapon Kyle Pitts, or they could trade back. It seems like, right now at least in my opinion, that the Falcons aren’t going quarterback. I’d guess they will stay put and select Kyle Pitts but it’s hard to say right now. With that said, If the Broncos want to jump on either Trey Lance or Justin Fields, they could make a major jump here.
After that, Rapoport mentions he doesn’t see the Bengals trading back and the Dolphins are moved a few times already so I think they’ll stay put and get their guy. The Lions are a team to watch to trade back with the Broncos. They would need to move back two spots and could still get their top targets potentially and the Broncos can get their quarterback.
Either way, it really does appear the Broncos are in the market for a quarterback and we could see them make a move for one during the draft. I’m personally hoping for Justin Fields, but we shall see.
