The Denver Broncos entered the 2021 NFL Draft with swirling rumors around Aaron Rodgers and how much they were targeting Justin Fields with the ninth overall selection. The Rodgers rumors died and then general manager George Paton passed on Fields to select Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain II.
By Day 2, the Broncos were ready to begin to make deals. First, they traded up five spots in the second round to select North Carolina running back Javonte Williams with the 35th overall pick. Then they traded down twice in the third round to pick up two picks near the end of Day 2. With the 98th overall pick, the drafted Wisconsin-Whitewater interior offensive lineman Quinn Meinerz and then with the 105th pick snagged Ohio State linebacker Baron Browning.
To finish out the 2021 draft class, the Broncos went on to draft Texas safety Caden Sterns with the 152nd pick and Indiana safety Jamar Johnson with the 164th pick in the fifth round before drafting Auburn wide receiver Seth Williams in the sixth round with the 219th overall pick. In the seventh round, the Broncos closed things out by drafting LSU cornerback Kary Vincent Jr. with the 237th pick, Ohio State linebacker Jonathon Cooper with the 239th pick, and Mississippi State defensive end Marquiss Spencer with the 253rd pick.
That makes 10 total draft picks for Denver this year. Here is your Denver Broncos 2021 draft class!

Overall, I think Paton’s first draft with the Broncos is filled with potential impact players. And while he failed to address the worst position on the roster (quarterback), he did surround that position with enough talent on both sides of the ball to compete in 2021.
