The 2021 NFL schedule releases on Wednesday evening, but we’ve gotten a potential leak of the Denver Broncos Week 1 opponent. If true, they will open the season on the road against the New York Giants in the afternoon slot on FOX.

Art Stapleton noted in his tweet from Tuesday night that game will take place on the 20-year anniversary of 9/11. That was also the game 20 years ago that Eddie McCaffrey broke is leg on Monday Night Football.

The Giants own a 7-6 all-time record over the Broncos, which includes Super Bowl XXI when they defeated the John Elway led Broncos 39-20. This century, however, the Broncos have a 3-2 record over the G-men.

Per this report, the Broncos will face the Giants on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 2:25 PM Mile High time at MetLife Stadium.
