Good and bad news abounds as the Broncos kick off the first week of on the field OTAs

The Broncos may be in a cycle of losing 5 years straight, but they are a team with buzz so far in the early stages of the 2021 season.

NFL: Denver Broncos Rookie Minicamp Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

With something close to action happening at Dove Valley, the Broncos are in and around a lot of interesting news stories.

They hired Kelly Kleine as the highest-ranking executive in the scouting arena of the NFL.

They have made big waves by cutting both Ja’Wuan James and DaeSean Hamilton after major injuries both players suffered while working away from the team facilities.

And let’s not forget for one second that the biggest buzz in the Aaron Rodgers saga of 2021 is that they are the front-runners for landing him if he does indeed force his way out of Green Bay.

I have to wonder just how much this buzz will impact the short-term future of the Broncos. With as bad of a product as they have put on the field in the past few years, I’d think a young team like them would do better with a quiet offseason and less distractions. With the hubub about the NFLPA and the injuries to two Broncos players in the limelight, I hope the players are keeping focused on the process and not on the buzz.
