Broncos have released FB/RB Jeremy Cox

The Broncos continue making moves on their roster.

Denver Broncos vs Miami Dolphins

According to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, the Denver Broncos have released running back/fullback Jeremy Cox.

This move likely happens because the Broncos reportedly agreed to terms with UDFA fullback Adam Prentice after the conclusion of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Jeremy Cox played in a total of seven games for the Broncos last season and earned one start during the span as well.

The fullback is not something we see used often in Broncos offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur’s offense so we’ll see if this changes moving forward. With the amount of firepower the Broncos have in the backfield, at tight end and wide receiver, a fullback doesn’t figure to hit the field unless they’re in short-yardage or goal-line situations anyways. Their biggest value would be on special teams, but that role can be given to someone else who can fill multiple roles and open up a roster spot elsewhere on the roster.
