LeVante Bellamy enters his 2nd year with the Denver Broncos. What can we expect to see from him in the near future?

The backfield for the Denver Broncos has gotten infused with a high draft pick and a free agent established veteran running back. Will LeVante Bellamy be able to find a role on the team?

#32 LeVante Bellamy

College: Western Michigan

The Good

Coming out of college, the story on Bellamy was that he has the jets to house the ball for big plays at any time. He’s a speedy guy that the Broncos invested in and even got to see action in 5 games in his rookie season.

The Bad

That explosive play capability is just potential from what we’ve seen so far. He ran for an abysmal 2.8 ypc on a handful of carries in a handful of games. He had a chance at making some noise, and all we heard got from him was a whisper.

He didn’t really carve out a special teams role and didn’t show enough to get a 3rd down weapon niche roll to fill either.

Final Word

Pat Shurmer isn’t exactly known for really spicing up a game plan with speedy 3rd down backs. Add to that the signing of Javonte Williams along with adding free agent Mike Boone, there doesn’t appear to me to be a spot for him on the roster.

But he’s got a chance to show up in training camp and wow the coaches. I’d love to see him take the leap and make the coaches have to find a role for him.
