The Denver Broncos will have their first game of the 2021 season on Saturday, August 14 when they take on the Minnesota Vikings in each teams’ first preseason game.
Both teams finished last season with a losing record, but for different reasons. The Broncos had one of the worst offenses in the league, while the Vikings had one of the worst defenses.
As for the Broncos quarterback competition, General Manager George Paton has not set a time frame to select a starter saying, “We don’t have a time frame. I think I said last time we just want to let it happen organically. It is Vic’s call. I’m a sounding board for him as are the coaches as are the scouts. We really like the competition. We’ve got a hell of a competition going on right now. Both guys are working their butts off, and I think it’s going to bring out the best of both quarterbacks.”
With Drew Lock starting this week and Teddy Bridgewater starting next week, we should see a starter named after that second preseason game.
Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. Mile High time on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The game will air on NFL Network nationally and locally you can catch it on KTVD-20.
