The 2021 NFL season is officially underway - at least for this fan! For me, the first actual Denver Broncos preseason game is what makes me feel like the new season has begun. Today they play the Minnesota Vikings on the road.
Game preview
Drew Lock will get the start today as the Broncos’ coaching staff continues to evaluate the competition for that starting quarterback job. While the Vikings have already noted their starters will play one series and many won’t even play in this game, it is still Lock’s best chance to make his case as Teddy Bridgewater is getting the start next week. It is also unlikely we’ll see many of the starters on Denver’s side play much today. That might put Lock at a bit of a disadvantage playing with two’s versus two’s.
While the quarterback battle is interesting, I’m just happy to be able to watch a real Broncos game for the first time in over eight months.
