It didn’t take long in the Denver Broncos first preseason game for their first round pick to shine. Patrick Surtain II jumped a pass in the first half and took it to the house for a touchdown for his first NFL interception and his first pick six - albeit in the preseason/

That touchdown put the Broncos up 23-3 over the Vikings as the offense accounted four two touchdown drives in that first half as well. One an 80-yard bomb from Drew Lock to KJ Hamler and another a long drive capped by another Lock touchdown. The defense accounted for a safety and this pick six by Surtain.
There is a lot of fan chatter about the Broncos passing on Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields in the first round, but if this is what we’re going to see a lot from Surtain over the next decade then we’re not going to be sad about that decisions at all.
