The second preseason game for the Denver Broncos is likely the deciding factor for head coach Vic Fangio when it comes to finally naming a starting quarterback for Week 1. By all accounts, Drew Lock has taken firm command over Teddy Bridgewater through training camp and the first preseason game. However, Bridgewater will get one last shot as he will start against the Seattle Seahawks this week.
Even offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur is seeing improvements out of Lock and it could only be a matter of a day before he is officially the starter.
“I think everybody in a game setting got to see some of the real improvement that we’ve seen behind the scenes in our practice settings and our meeting rooms,” Shurmur said of Lock this week. “He was able to get a couple big plays. He was efficient, he did the right thing for us in the run game and all the things we’re asking, and ultimately, got us in the end zone.”
Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. Mile High time on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington. The game will air locally on KTVD-20.
