According to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, now former Broncos edge rusher Derrek Tuszka who was waived by the Broncos yesterday has now signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad.
OLB Derrek Tuszka is signing to Steelers' practice squad, per source. Loved Broncos but PIT numbers may be better. Tuszka played in 9 games for DEN last yr after he was drafted in 7th round out of North Dakota State. He was almost always 1st player out on practice field. #9sports

The former North Dakota State star and 7th round selection by the Denver Broncos is now a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. With rookies Jonathon Cooper and Andre Mintze emerging this offseason, the road to playing time with the Broncos looked rather difficult. So, it makes sense for Tuszka to join a roster where he thinks he has a clearer shot to playing time.
Tuszka was a bit undersized and struggled in that regard throughout his time with the Broncos which limited his potential. His work ethic was never questioned and he did add to his frame this past offseason, but the numbers game got him here.
I would expect the Broncos to try to sign another pass rusher to their practice squad to fill Tuszka’s spot on the depth chart. With that said, the Broncos are very deep at that position with Von Miller, Bradley Chubb, Malik Reed, Jonathon Cooper, Andre Mintze, and potentially Baron Browning.
