Update: It is looking like Broncos edge rusher Bradley Chubb will make his season debut in Week 2 against the Jaguars.

The Denver Broncos are fresh of a good start to the 2021 NFL season with a win in Week 1. They’ll look to continue that winning trend in Week 2 against Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Game Preview

Weather in Jacksonville on Sunday looks to be a mix of rain showers and high humidity in the low 80s. That may not seem like a big deal, but the humidity with even 82 degrees is going to wear on players and hydration. Hydration was a big focus for the Broncos this week as they prepared for the Jaguars.

“It’s been emphasized for them to hydrate starting yesterday and starting Tuesday,” Head Coach Vic Fangio said on Thursday. “You’ve got to do it all week, not just the day of the game or the day before. That’s one thing. We’re going down there a day early. We’re going to have a walkthrough—our normal Saturday practice, which is very low tempo. We’re going to do it there and get two good night’s rest there we hope and be ready to play.”

The team arrived in Jacksonville a day earlier to get a little practice/walk-through in on Saturday to prepare for the weather change even further.

Fangio is taking no chances and making no assumptions this season as he looks for those early season wins.

Here’s how to watch.

Broncos Betting Odds

The Broncos opened solid 6-point favorites over the Jaguars earlier in the week. As the week wore on the line held firm at six, despite the rumors swirling that Jaguars Head Coach Urban Meyer is looking to make a swift exit out of Jacksonville after just one game.

Matchup History

There is a bit of a bitter rivalry that the Broncos and Jaguars have had over the years, but mostly it stemmed from the expansion Jaguars upsetting the AFC favorite Broncos in the 1996 Divisional Round. The Broncos then exacted its revenge on the Jaguars in the 1997 Wild Card Round on its way to a Super Bowl title. In 13 all-time meetings (including playoffs), the Broncos are 6-7 against the Jaguars so a win this week would even that up.
