The Denver Broncos achieved exactly the kind of start necessary for a team looking to get back into playoff contention after a long drought. Winning on the road in the NFL isn’t easy - even against teams not considered to be any good - and that is exactly what Denver did to open the season 2-0. They absolutely have to keep it going in Week 3 against the New York Jets. Losing at home against a team like the Jets is not what a playoff team would do and Head Coach Vic Fangio would agree.
“We have to go win at home,” Fangio said on Wednesday. “It’s as simple as that. These fan bases are very, very enthusiastic. I’ve been in some of the best fan bases—Chicago, San Francisco. I grew up in the Philadelphia area. These guys are right there with them, if not better as fans, I think. They love the Broncos, and we have to give them what they’re hungry for.”
Winning this home opener would be huge not only because Denver would be 3-0, but it will help set a winning tone heading into a much more difficult stretch of games beginning in Week 4.
Kickoff is set for 2:05 p.m. Mile High time on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado.
