The Denver Broncos have made the 2021 home opener a ‘Re-United In Orange’ venue as the team takes on the New York Jets. I would expect a lot of orange in the stands for this game and I would also expect it to be a rowdy and fun crowd. If you plan to attend, get there early. The parking lot opens at 9:30 am local time and gates open at noon.
Game Preview
On paper, this looks like two teams heading in opposite directions but fortunes can turn on a dime in the NFL. The Broncos played two very soft teams to open up the year, while the New York Jets faces two very tough defenses. With a rookie quarterback, that is a recipe for an 0-2 start.
It won’t get any easier for Zach Wilson in Week 3 as the Broncos defense is one of the highest rated in DVOA through two games.
For Denver to truly start making believers in us long-term, they need to continue handling business against teams like the Jets that are unlikely to be any serious playoff contender in 2021. The schedule certainly gets tougher as they face four 2020 playoff teams in their next five games after this one with the red hot Las Vegas Raiders in between.
First order of business, however, is to beat the Jets.
Here’s how to watch.

If you see LIGHT BLUE in the map below, you will at least get the Broncos-Jets game on your local CBS affiliate station this week. It’s definitely not the premiere game judging by the coverage here and you can forget about it if you live in Alaska or Hawaii.
If you see LIGHT BLUE in your area, you will get the #Broncos #Jets game on CBS this weekend. #NYJvsDEN https://t.co/LUahD494vq

Broncos Betting Odds
I used to love double-digit spreads for the Broncos, but that was back when Peyton Manning would deliver those double-digit wins. I’m not ready to feel confident about covering one now. Denver is 10.5-point favorites over the Jets and while I think Denver will win I am wary to proclaim a cover here. I wouldn’t personally put money on that line.
Matchup History
The Broncos are 20-16-1 all-time against the Jets, but Denver has taken four of the last five in this series. I’d also like to share that way back in the day when I first began to become a fan of the Broncos I remember them taking on the Jets on Monday Night Football. Denver was undefeated, but the Jets were pretty good too. Denver got spanked turning the ball over three times and I think John Elway left the game hurt at one point. It’s all good though, because by the end of that season I was a full blown Broncomaniac and still am to this day. So it all worked out.
