The long wait is over. NFL football is finally back!
In Week 1, our beloved Denver Broncos will be on the road against the New York Giants. Surprising road favorites, the Broncos are a team that seem to be on the upswing from their disappointing 2020 campaign. That trend can only continue with a fast start and a road win this week would do just that.
We should expect some rust on both teams as the starters look to play in their first full game in a long time. The Broncos were one team that played their starters a lot more than other teams, so hopefully that’ll translate well in Week 1. Head Coach Vic Fangio is ready to adapt.
“I mean, nobody’s played an entire game yet on any team,” Fangio said. “That is one thing right there. You always have the first game with unscouted looks and unscouted plays that each team can do schematically. Some of the players, you don’t have a lot of tape on them—in our case, in the Giants uniform. There’s a lot of adapting going on in each and every game, but especially the opener.”
Kickoff is set for 2:25 p.m. Mile High time on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
