Another Week, Another Mock

Another week and another mock, so with a bye week nothing really changed much as far as draft position, but thought I would take another stab at a mock to highlight some potential targets.

Pick 20 – Broderick James, OT Georgia: He’s a player who doesn’t have a tone of experience, but he came to Georgia as one of the top offensive line recruits in the country and this season he has been becoming consistently better as the starting LT for the Bulldogs. He is a very good athlete and moves well, has a strong base, as well as strong hands, good at picking up any stunts or twists and is aggressive getting to the second level and seeking out blocks. What he probably does not have ideal length to be a LT but looks to be a solid prospect at the next level who will need some coaching to improve his pass sets but plays consistently well. He may be gone sooner than 20 but right now I had him falling here.

Pick 76 – Jaquelin Roy, DT LSU: He’s quick off the snap and is a good at penetrating and disrupting play flow. He has good strength and can generally holds up well in the interior. Good use of hands and has good natural leverage. Although his stats don’t necessarily show up, his presence is felt. Should fit well as a solid rotational defensive lineman with the Broncos.

Pick 77 – Sean Tucker, RB Syracuse: With a potential need at RB going into next season (especially if Williams has a longer recovery), Tucker is a smaller back who is excellent in space, shows great burst and very good long speed, although not elite. He’s not a bruiser, but he is a solid back that you can use as a change of pace or 3rd down type of back as he has very good hands and is a very good receiver out of the backfield.

Pick 114- Andre Vorhees, OG USC: He’s an older player playing in his sixth season at USC and has a ton of experience playing both tackle and guard. He likely ends up a guard in the NFL, but probably is a swing lineman prospect that you can play in a pinch but likely isn’t a long term starter, he got a lot of good physical traits but isn’t really exceptional at any area. He does need to improve his technique if he wants to survive in the NFL as he seems to get by with just being physically superior than most of the players he sees.

Pick 147 – Dontayvion Wicks, WR Virginia: Nice blend of size, speed and start-stop ability. Can accelerate quickly and maintains great body control. Needs to work better at his routes and can have a tendency to let balls get to his pads rather than plucking out of the air. Both of which I think he can develop better at the pro-level.

Pick 247 – Steven Gilmore, CB Marshall: He’s experienced and does a very good job on flipping and turning hips and making plays on deep ball. He is solid as a man cover guy and does a good job with route recognition. Due to his lean frame he likely is going to have to be limited to a dime role as he struggles in run support and likely will struggle against bigger WRs.
