I’ve always wanted a Broncos tattoo, but I’ve never got a tattoo just to have one. They always represent a point in my life. What was most important to me at that milestone. I always had it in my mind that if the team ever had an extended funk and the bandwagon fans all bailed for greener pastures, it might be a good time to get one and to make a statement about standing by our team through thick and thin. Now seemed like a good time to make that point.
I also really needed this to tie into family and friends, like all my other tattoos. This year, my parents and me, my wife and kids both sold our homes to purchase our dream house together. It’s worked out great. The kids love spending so much time with their Memaw and Poppy and the house is big enough for us to have privacy when we want it. I can’t help but feel like I’m living the dream that Demaryius Thomas always talked about wanting. With his dedication to family, my wife and I having a special connection around Tebow, and everything else falling into place, I knew the perfect image to base a sleeve around.
Our area has been blessed to have an award winning artist serve our community. I knew I wanted to give him the wheel and let him work his magic. So far, he has went above and beyond anything I could imagine. And in a sign that this was meant to be, our consultation happened a year and a day after the anniversary of DT’s death. My first session happened 11 years and one day after the play it is based upon.
Here’s how it’s looking so far.
I’ll be sure to keep you all updated as it progresses!
