Broncos staring down entry to AFC playoff picture

The fact Denver is even in this position after Week 3 is pretty incredible.

Good morning, Broncos Country!

The Denver Broncos have an opportunity to put themselves in the AFC playoff picture.

With where this team was after Week 3, it’s remarkable the Broncos are in this position. But here we are. And this is a weird feeling; especially after the last seven seasons.

A win tonight over the Minnesota Vikings puts them squarely in the playoff hunt. I’ve been throwing the playoffs around since Denver finally beat the Kansas City Chiefs. And then again after a road win over the Buffalo Bills.

But some are still a little skittish talking about the playoffs. It makes sense with how the season started and the recent history for this franchise. And it’s not like tonight’s game is a shoo-in by any stretch. The Vikings have won five in a row and are the hottest team in the NFL.

Yet there is something happening with this Broncos team. They have the belief in Sean Payton and this coaching staff and the confidence they can beat any team in the NFL.

Now Denver plays at home in primetime in front of a home crowd that has been starved for this. And Broncos Country will bring the Rocky Mountain Thunder like they haven’t since the Super Bowl year.

I think the Broncos get the win tonight and put themselves squarely in the playoff picture. The fact Denver has this opportunity is incredible and a lot of fun.

It’s great that Broncos football is exciting again.
