An arrest warrant has been issued for former Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller for alleged domestic violence, WFAA-TV in Dallas, Texas, reported on Thursday. According to the report, Miller has been accused of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend. A charge of assaulting a pregnant person is a third-degree felony in Texas.

The report states that police responded to a “major disturbance” Wednesday morning in the Dallas area and learned that Miller allegedly assaulted his longtime girlfriend. He left the scene before police arrived and the alleged victim was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Police said officers at 11 a.m. Wednesday responded to a “major disturbance” call in the 3100 block of North Harwood in the Uptown area of Dallas.

Officers learned that Miller and the alleged victim were in an argument when Miller allegedly assaulted her, police said. Multiple police sources told WFAA that the alleged victim is Miller’s longtime girlfriend.

Police said Miller left the scene before officers arrived. The alleged victim was not taken to a hospital but was treated for minor injuries at the scene, police said.

The Buffalo Bills, who Von Miller currently plays for, released a statement noting that they are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering information but will have no further comment on the matter at this point.

“This morning, we were made aware of an incident involving Von Miller. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at this point.”

Miller was a longtime member of the Denver Broncos and their Super Bowl 50 MVP before spending time with the Rams and winning another Super Bowl. Miller is currently in year two of a six-year, $120 million-dollar contract with the Buffalo Bills.

According to ESPN, Von Miller turned himself in on Thursday after an arrest warrant was issued for him earlier in the day for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman. He posted his $5,000 bond and was released from jail according to WFAA’s Rebecca Lopez.

ESPN obtained the affidavit for the arrest warrant and it gives some extra detail about the alleged encounter between Von Miller and the alleged victim.

According to the affidavit, the argument began at approximately 10:40 a.m. CT, concerning her travel plans. The woman removed herself from the main bedroom and slammed the door to the office of the apartment, which made Miller “visibly angry,” per the affidavit.

He then followed her into the office and yelled at the woman to “get out.” As she tried to comply with the request, she went to collect her belongings, per the affidavit. While she attempted to do so, Miller pushed and shoved her, at one point taking out his phone to try and record the altercation. She continued to yell, “‘Stop I’m pregnant.”

Per the affidavit, Miller stepped on her feet as he pushed her, which caused her to fall into a chair, and then using one hand, he applied pressure to her neck for three to five seconds, which caused pain, but not difficulty breathing, per the affidavit.

As she continued to try and gather her belongings, Miller grabbed her phone and threw her laptop on the floor and stomped on it. When she tried to retrieve it, he pulled her hair and caused her to fall to the ground and a chunk of her hair to come out. When she got up to leave and get her belongings, she started recording on a phone in her pocket, per the affidavit, and was grabbed again by Miller and pushed onto the couch and placed pressure on her neck with both hands, causing pain.

When she got up, she told Miller that she was going to call the police and it prompted him to leave the residence, per the affidavit.

It remains to be seen what comes of this and if the NFL will punish Miller for this, but the NFL did release a statement on the matter. In the statement, they said they are aware of the matter and will follow the legal developments, and will have no further comment on the matter at this time.

“We are aware of the matter and have been in contact with the club. We will follow all legal developments. We have no further comment at this time.”

Now the alleged victim in the case is now saying that no assault happened according to WFAA who has been communicating with her via text.

She told them: “No one assaulted anyone,” she texted. “This is insane. And sad.” so we shall see what comes of this matter.

For now, Miller faces a felony charge of assaulting a pregnant person earlier this week in the Dallas area which led to an arrest warrant where Miller eventually turned himself in. He bonded himself out and now we await what comes next, however, with the alleged victim now saying no assault happened, it does not sound like much will (NOT A LEGAL EXPERT).

We will continue to update this unfortunate developing story as more details emerge.
