The Denver Broncos have won six of their last seven games, but a win this weekend over the Detroit Lions in Week 15 could be their most important of the season as they jockey for playoff positioning in the AFC. It’s now when the details matter the most and Head Coach Sean Payton noted how important those the slightest of details matter in December.
“They never stop mattering,” Payton said. “Those little gold lines on the field. There was one play in the Chargers game that I think scores a touchdown if our split was two yards tighter. There’s an ally, there’s minus-two, there’s plus-two—there are seven splits. I felt like, ‘Did we not do a good enough job of that little alignment?’ Those splits on the field will allow them to see [that details] constantly matter. They keep you up at night. ‘Have we covered everything?’ Then when they matter in a positive way and you have success, you recognize it, and you are glad that you covered it. It’s the essence of what we do.”
Kickoff is set for 6:15 p.m. Mile High time on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. The game will air on NFL Network and KMGH-TV with Kevin Harlan (play-by-play), Trent Green (analyst), and Melanie Collins (sideline) announcing. The game will also air on Westwood One radio, but you can also check local Broncos radio network affiliate stations.
