Broncos offensive line a Top 5 unit in 2023

If you ask PFF, the Denver Broncos offensive line has been elite all season long. They are a big factor in the team’s successful run back into playoff contention.

One of the biggest factors in the Denver Broncos rise from 1-5 to 7-6 and in the thick of the AFC playoff hunt has been the play of their offensive line in both the run game and in pass protection.

According to Pro Football Focus, the Broncos have moved up to the Top 5 in their overall offensive line rankings on the season.

5. Denver Broncos (Up 1)

Projected Week 15 starters:
LT Garett Bolles
LG Ben Powers
C Lloyd Cushenberry III
RG Quinn Meinerz
RT Mike McGlinchey

• Right guard Quinn Meinerz left in Week 14 due to an irregular heartbeat and was replaced by Luke Wattenberg, who played the second half against the Chargers.

• Right tackle Mike McGlinchey earned the highest pass-blocking grade on the Broncos’ offensive line after giving up just one pressure against Los Angeles. His 80.6 pass-blocking grade was his highest since Week 4.

• Best player: Garett Bolles. Bolles has not allowed a quarterback hit or sack since Week 8.

The attention during this run has been largely on the defensive side of the ball, but we have to give credit where its due and the offensive line group has really come together as well. They are not perfect as we know the run stuff rate is really high on the right side of the line, but if you take the group as a whole in all aspects of what they have to do on any given play they are a Top 5 group. At least from PFF’s unique grading technique.

This should hopefully keep the offense rolling through the final four games and give this franchise their first playoff berth in a very, very long time.
