Broncos vs. Lions score predictions for Week 15

Here are Mile High Report’s score predictions for the Denver Broncos vs. Detroit Lions game in Week 15. Who do you think will win this game?

NFL: Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Chargers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

A win by the Denver Broncos in this game would all but assure their incredible playoff run after starting the season 1-5. At 8-6 they would face three teams with losing records to close out their season with most of the other teams in the AFC playoff picture around them down quarterbacks. That makes this game against the Detroit Lions very important from that standpoint.

Collectively, we are riding high from the Broncos winning six of their last seven and believe Denver will beat the Lions, 29-20. Every single one of us predicted a win today, but here is how we see the score outcome differently:

Broncos 24, Lions 23

This is a game the Broncos could lose and it will be a tough environment to play in on prime time on Saturday night. I’ll give the nod to my team, however, with a last second Wil Lutz field goal to take the win to move Denver to 8-6 on the season. - Tim Lynch

Broncos 31, Lions 20

This is the toughest test remaining for the Broncos and I think they’ll upset the emerging Lions on the national stage Saturday night. The Lions run game is concerning but I believe the mistake prone Jared Goff will turn the ball over and the Broncos will move the ball against a declining Lions defense. Broncos move to 8-6 and root for the Patriots to pull an upset against the Chiefs. - Scotty Payne

Broncos 38, Lions 24

Detroit's defense has been melting down the last few weeks. The Bonitto injury is scary, because the Broncos defensive depth is paper thin almost everywhere. The results of these forces will be lots of points and fewer points, but I believe in more Denver points and a fairly comfortable win. - John Holmes

Broncos 27, Lions 10

Two things. I believe in Sean Payton and I apologize to Vance Joseph (again). Cortland is gonna go off and the playoff hunt gains serious, serious traction. - Mike DeCicco

Broncos 27, Lions 20

The Lions are not nearly as invulnerable as they were at the beginning of the season and it’s time for Denver to take advantage of that. Goff has been shaky and their passing game has struggled as of late, while the Broncos, on the other hand, have been really starting to pick it up. I think I’m most excited to see how our pass rush matches up against Detroit’s offensive line. That might decide the game. - Ross Allen

Broncos 30, Lions 24

My confidence level on this pick is not what I would call high, and the Lions’ run O and run D spooks me a bit, but I’m gonna have to go with the hot hand. The Lions have a better record, but since their bye, they have either lost to or struggled mightily against weak teams. I believe the Broncos will have a more confident mindset, whereas the Lions, having been punched in the mouth a bit, will be playing not to lose. - Nick Burch

Broncos 27, Lions 17

As I told Adam on Broncos Odds & Endzones, the win over the Chargers is the most complete game we’ve seen from this organization since PFM. When you add in what was at stake, Denver will get even more confidence heading into Detroit. That goes for the coaches as well as the players. The offense will put up points, while the defense will force yet more turnovers and consistently pressure Goff to leave the Motor City with a big win. - Ian St. Clair

Broncos 26, Lions 23

The Broncos are still one of the hottest teams in the NFL. The Lions are the toughest team on their remaining schedule, and they need this win. The playoffs are not a guarantee, so I expect Sean Payton to have his team ready to go into Detroit and steal win. Jared Goff has been on the struggle bus recently, and Vance Joseph’s defense has been harassing QBs to their breaking point this season. That won’t change, but it will take more points to win this game. It should be close, but look for Russ and the offense to do something big late to get the win. - Adam Malnati
