Merry Christmas Eve, Broncos Country!
Let’s get this out of this way: There’s still a lot of football to be played.
And anything can happen.
But the fact the Denver Broncos are even in this position is exciting. After not being sniffing the AFC playoffs since Super Bowl 50, and the 1-5 start, it is equally remarkable. Even if Denver doesn’t make the playoffs, the franchise is on the right track.
To make the playoffs the Broncos have to win out. Week 18 against the Las Vegas Raiders will be no cakewalk, either.
If they do, Denver still needs some help. But according to the New York Times, the Broncos have an 85% chance of making the playoffs by winning out.
The Houston Texans face the Cleveland Browns today without C.J. Stroud and still have the Indianapolis Colts lingering. The Jacksonville Jaguars face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today with Trevor Lawrence coming out of concussion protocol and close out against the Tennessee Titans.
We’ll see what happens in the last three games, but the path to the playoffs is still clear.
