Final 2 games could determine whether Broncos' 2023 season was a success or failure

The switch at quarterback could help the Denver Broncos turn a failed season into a slightly successful season above .500.

At 7-8 and coming off yet another home loss to a team with a losing record, the Denver Broncos 2023 season sure looks like a complete flop after such a promising run of games that got them into the playoff conversation late in the season. However, with the benching of Russell Wilson, there could be a way this team finishes the season on a high note and maybe even above .500 for the first time since 2016.

In our weekly SB Nation Reacts survey, most of us don’t think this season is a success but if they won their final two games — both against division rivals — perhaps that sentiment will change slightly into a majority.

In the now, however, the Broncos are fresh off a loss at home to the New England Patriots and that has led to fan confidence completely collapsing since hitting a season high 98% just a few weeks ago. From 7-6 to 7-8 will do that, especially after getting blown out in one game and losing a team with a Top 3 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Then we get to the question asked that ended up being pointless, since he was benched the very next day the survey released. However, it was worth sharing since 74% of us shared Sean Payton’s belief that it was time to move on from Russell Wilson. His benching signals the team will, in fact, move on from the veteran quarterback this offseason.
