Now that the Denver Broncos 2023 season is in the books, we now know where they’ll pick in the 1st round of the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. After their 27-14 loss to the Raiders, the Broncos officially have the 12th overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Broncos will finish the season with an 8-9 record in their first year with Sean Payton after their 27-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Now, they will enter the offseason where they will likely need to draft a quarterback to be their starter moving forward. As we know, they will likely move on from veteran Russell Wilson this offseason and eat his large dead cap number. This will leave Jarrett Stidham as the in-house favorite to be the starter next season. So, the Broncos will obviously be looking to draft a quarterback this offseason to compete and hopefully, win that job.

Unfortunately for the Broncos, there are a bunch of quarterback-needy teams ahead of them in the draft order. The Bears(1st and 9th), Commanders,(2nd) Patriots(3rd), Falcons(8th), and Vikings(11th) likely all will be in the market for a quarterback while the Cardinals(4th) and Giants(6th) could potentially enter that market as well.

Now, a potential Justin Fields trade and a Kirk Cousins signing may take a team or two out of this market, but for now, the Broncos are in a tough spot when it comes to draft position.

It appears that Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels will be the first three quarterbacks off the board while Michael Penix, Bo Nix, and J.J. McCarthy are the next three who figure to get looks. If the Broncos want to get one of the top three quarterbacks available, they will need to trade up and likely include cornerback Patrick Surtain in said deal. It will be costly, but it is what the Broncos will need to do if they want one of the top three and even then, we don’t know if any of the three are willing to trade.

We have three months to talk, discuss, argue, and analyze this but at least we know where the Broncos will be pick in the 1st round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
