The Play I consider the greatest play in Broncos history was 40 years ago today. You can watch the video of the fake field goal pass from Norris Weese to Jim Turner about one minute and eight seconds into this video. You can read the story here: https://www.milehighreport.com/2015/9/8/9274907/remembering-norris-weese
Hey all, penalties are "my thing" for some reason and I do a weekly look over at Buffalo Rumblings. I always like to share with each week's opponent so this week it's your turn. Feel free to drop me comments here or there and I'm more than happy to chat.
Credit Bills special teamer Joe Webb with recognizing the Broncos were going to run a fake punt on a fourth-and-2 play from the Denver 31 late in the third quarter. De'Angelo Henderson, the Broncos' up-back punt protector, was stuffed for a 1-yard gain by Bills linebacker Deon Lacey. "I knew 33 was a running back playing PP going into the game," Webb said. "Once I saw the offensive linemen run out on the field, I said the linemen are not about to run down the field to cover the kick. That was the key indicator. It was fourth and short, so that's a big indicator for a fake. So I'm hollering, 'Fake alert.' " The Bills turned the change of possession into a field goal that stretched their lead to 23-16.
Want to see why our defense is doing so well against the run? Brandon Thorn brings the goods with a ton of superb film breakdown. This is a must read for Broncos fans.
Trevor Siemian and C.J. Anderson are both nominated - go and vote!
The ascension begins...
You don't see teams doing this kind of thing often, but for a player a well-respected and integral to the teams success over the last three seasons, it was a nice gesture. T.J. Ward will be missed.
This is pretty far from where we thought Quanterus Smith would end up.
Seems a little low with such a powerful defense and one year removed from the SuperBowl?
