Broncos to hold private workout for RB/KR Dexter McCluster

27
Ole Miss' Dexter McCluster told Scout.com that he's already conducted a private workout with the Cleveland Browns and has another one scheduled this Thursday with the Denver Broncos. And at the end of the month, he's scheduled to hop on a plane for an official visit with the Tennessee Titans. After finishing second all-time in all-purpose yards at Ole Miss with 4,089 yards, McCluster is drawing interest from teams as a running back, wide receiver and returns specialist.

Possible replacement for Peyton Hillis?? RB Toby Gerhart

81
The 6-foot, 231-pound Gerhart stormed onto the scene this past season after he had 343 carries for 1,871 yards and 27 touchdowns. Often compared to former Tampa Bay Buccaneers fullback Mike Alstott, the winner of the 2009 Doak Walker Award, Gerhart surprised scouts at the NFL Scouting Combine with his athleticism and straight line speed; he ran a 4.55 in the 40 and recorded a 38-inch vertical in Indianapolis. The Broncos will conduct a private workout with Gerhart on March 24th

And the MSM starts their BS already...

ESPN (or the AP, or whoever titled this article) say "Quinn makes it clear he wants to start." They are out and out TRYING to make a QB controversy flare up. NEWS FLASH: OF COURSE he wants to start! He's a professional athlete! Every one wants to start. Even BQ goes on to say, in effect, "We all want to start." Would it be better for him to say, "I am so happy to be a backup. I hope I never get on the field!" Sorry, I just get irked when they try to create a QB controversy. I think everyone can agree that KO is the starter now and, barring an injury or major regression, KO will remain the starter for 2010. But I fear we have a whole season of MSM "QB controversy" stories ahead of us....

Broncos to workout Baylor's Walton

Add JD Walton to the list of Center prospects the Broncos are working out, after Matt Tennant. Will Pouncey be next?

Russell Not Seen in Oakland

I find this interesting that Williamson would post this. The title left me wondering something. At first, I thought "Why don't they just check Dunkin Donuts in Oakland. They should find him there." Then, I remembered who the writer was. Williamson was probably there at the Dunkin Donuts waiting for their scheduled breakfast feast. On a serious note, the raiders are a mess with this guy receiving checks from them.....

Broncos to work out C Matt Tennant

37

A three-year starter at Boston College, Tennant started 41 consecutive games at center for the Eagles. A Rimington Trophy finalist this past season, Tennant had a strong performance at the Senior Bowl and showcased his athleticism and strength at the Scouting Combine by running a 5.16 in the 40 and benching 225 pounds 27 times. At 6-foot-5, 300 pounds, Tennant figures to be in the late second, early third round mix in this year’s draft.

Of all the QBs now on Denver's roster, the one that might have the best chance of being a long-term answer is QB Tom Brandstater.

No, I’m not a Brady Quinn fan, but I’m a huge Josh McDaniels fan, and if anyone can bring out the best in Quinn, it’s McDaniels. If McDaniels can make Matt Cassell successful, there has to be hope for Quinn. The Broncos gain a player at a position of need without any significant cost. Now McDaniels can keep the pressure on Kyle Orton and decide if Quinn has the skills to fit into his system. This shouldn’t change the Broncos’ approach in the draft. "We've made a lot great moves this offseason, and this is another one," Orton said from Hawaii, where he is attending the NFL Players Association meetings. "He's a great player, and I'll be happy to work with him." Kyle Orton likes the pickup of Brady Quinn
