Although I generally don't like agreeing with Stephen A. Smith, I can't help but agree with him on the Broncos' mega-deal with their QB...he is worth it, and Denver really had no choice after the abysmal quarterback play it's had the past six years.
It's the preseason finale and the last chance for some players to prove they deserve a roster spot ahead of cut day on Tuesday.
We have a vigorous back-and-forth dialog with Chiefs fans, but I'd like to call a timeout for a second to pay tribute to Len Dawson. Dawson and his team won the NFL Championship the year after Joe Namath and the Jets, and his teams were fun to watch, regardless of whether you were a Chiefs or Broncos fan. I used to follow him, maybe because he went to Purdue, as I did quite a number of years later. And, he's one of 3 men in the Hall of Fame twice - both as a player and as an announcer/analyst. So let's take a moment away from the spirited rivalry and recognize a good player from one of the earlier days in the NFL. Godspeed, Len Dawson.
I'm all for saving the starters - and even protecting some of the more important second stringers (can you say Baron Browning?) - but I'm still looking forward to watching the backups go against one of the best teams in the AFC. And of course seeing Von Miller.
True, it's just a preseason game. True, no team is winning the Super Bowl tonight - or even their division. But today is the first game with a new regime and a new excitement in Broncos Country. GO BRONCOS!
Colum and Stewart from Dublin to Denver podcast chat about the new ownership group, depth charts, camp battles and a potentially divisive trade! Just another eventful week in Broncos Country!
Mike and Jess of Something Something Broncos look ahead to the preseason opener against Dallas this Saturday, take a moment to remember their favorite Demaryius Thomas moments, and imagine the unlikely event that the Broncos struggle this year. Thank goodness for Russell Wilson!
The Broncos' offense had its best day of training camp so far, connecting on several touchdowns and culminating with an 80-yard touchdown drive in the final two-minute drill of the day.
A full house got together for an episode of Something Something Broncos on Monday night. Rachel Strand and Tanner Watts join Mike and Jess to reflect on a great first week of training camp. This episode was recorded on Monday, August 1, 2022.
Incoming new Denver Broncos owner, Rob Walton, has announced that the Walton-Penner family ownership group will be adding Sir Lewis Hamilton to their ownership group. In this statement, Walton said, "We're delighted to welcome Seven-Time Formula One World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton to our ownership group.
