Super Bowl 49 brings 'what could have been' for Denver Broncos fans; players already eyeing 2015 title shot

Chris Harris Jr. wants that Ring.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

As a Denver Broncos fan, 2014 is one big bowl of suck right now as the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks continue to prepare for the biggest game of the year, Super Bowl XLIX. What could have been, eh? Or, maybe, what was never going to be under the old guard.

For the remaining Broncos players like Chris Harris Jr, all that matters now is making the most of the 2015 season.

"I’ll be back in a little bit, ready to go, get to work," said Harris, "Because we still want to get in that last game and win it."

John Elway will certainly do his best to return the same cast of characters that has gone 40-10 over the last three regular seasons, but with rumors that Julius Thomas is going to be allowed to walk, as well as Terrance Knighton, it may be an interesting offseason scheme-wise with a mostly new coaching staff.

If Elway can at least keep the players who have the same drive and hunger for winning that Chris Harris Jr does, then the Broncos should be in good shape to compete for that Lombardi Trophy in 2015. That's not saying JT or Pot Roast don't have that kind of drive, but as a fan, we can only hope for the best with each offseason shake up of the roster.

It is the NFL (Not For Long) after all.
