When the Denver Broncos signed Casey, they signed him for his versatility. He's listed as a tight end and fullback on the Denver Broncos official roster page. He offers key depth at tight end and gives the Broncos an experienced option at fullback.

However, it seems like Casey is ready to drop the tight end label and focus on being a fullback at this stage of his career.
"I think I’m much better. I think I’m much better suited for the position. The fullback is tough. Early on in my career, I was more of a receiver coming out of college. I kind of had to work my way into working tight end and then I had to learn fullback. I was always learning stuff. Now I feel real confident. I’ve played long enough. I’ve experienced almost everything that you can see football-wise. A lot of it is just mentality, learning what things are about, how to be physical, how to finish plays and things like that. I think I’m best suited for it now. I’m older in my career. The physical nature of the game as opposed to running around all over the place, when you’re young it’s awesome, but as you get a little bit older, you enjoy the blocking, doing your part and whatever you are responsible in the run game."
Look for James Casey to be the Broncos starting fullback week one of the 2015 season, the same role that he had for Gary Kubiak and the Houston Texans back in 2012, and 2011. In 2012, Casey totaled 34 receptions for 330 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Broncos will for that type of success this season for the Broncos.
Casey will probably still see some time at the tight end position, but it appears that Casey is ready to focus on run blocking instead of "running around all over the place".
Casey will be competing with rookie Joe Don Duncan for the tight end/fullback role on offense. There's also a chance we could see Juwan Thompson get some looks at fullback, but I believe he'll do well at running back.

This past season was Ware's first with the Broncos, and he did pretty well. He totaled 40 tackles, 10 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 1 interception in 2014.
This is the second week in a row that a Broncos player has made this list. Last week wide receiver made the list for the first time in his career.
