Just like the Broncos, it seems like Kyle and I have hit our stride. We feel these episodes just keep getting better and better. We have literally everything that you would want to know about the game up until this point, and of course we take a deep dive into Sunday's game against the New England Patriots, pulling in all types of things that you may have missed.

As you know by now, Bill Belichick made an accusation about Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker, but the bottom line is that these same Broncos handed New England a swift loss. This was one where the Patriots never had a legitimate chance at winning. We break it down.

The offense is and has been on a whole different level this entire season, bringing it every time that it has needed to bring it. This game proved no different. What has been different is the level at which Denver's defense has played since the Week 16 loss of Von Miller.

The Broncos, as you will hear, have been the number one overall defense in the post season.

Now what makes the Super Bowl game against the Seattle Seahawks so epic? Yes it is the best offense versus the best defense, but just how good historically is that best defense? Well, we've got that - and a whole lot about Michael Crabtree right here.

The Broncos are in the Super Bowl, making this the most Super MHR Radio episode we've ever created! Enjoy, and be sure to nominate the MHR Radio Podcast for Best Local Podcast in West Word's Best of Denver 2014 Awards!

There will be plenty of story lines for Super Bowl XLVIII, but this one is all about the ballers who put their stud cap on to take down Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.

Peyton Manning

Less than two years ago a new sheriff came to town, and thank god he did. It's a special occasion for any fan to see their team in the Super Bowl. A sight that hasn't happened for Denver fans for 15 years. Thanks to Peyton Manning, we're going to see it once again.

The main stream media hyped up the Broncos' roadblocks to New York. "Phillip Rivers had ended Peyton's Super Bowl journey twice before". "Tom Brady has owned Peyton Manning." Blah. Blah. With absolute perfect precision Peyton Manning picked apart every defense he faced this post season. What is most impressive about the Broncos' offense in the past two games hasn't been one or two specific plays. It's been the long sustained, well executed drives orchestrated by Mr. Manning. Offenses that can spread the ball around so successfully can drive defenses mad.

Which the Broncos will have to do one more time. One more game. ~Mr. East

Knowshon Moreno

I'm going with Moreno, guy had 59 rushing yards (4.2 YPC) and 22 receiving yards (11 yards per reception) and continued to block better than some offensive lineman in the NFL. While he did get injured near the end of the game, he showed the power that set him apart this season and it's incredible what this season has meant for him. Prior to the start of the season most fans felt he didn't make the top 25 most important players on the team, at this point Montee is stepping up but Moreno has proven his value to this team in 2014. ~Chris Doll

Montee Ball

No one has been more important to the defense than Danny 'The Closer' Trevathan. -Ian Henson

Montee Ball!!! When we needed a critical third down, he got it. When we needed to ice the game ON 4th FREAKING DOWN, he got it! When Knowshon went out with a concussion, he stepped up. All year we saw Montee maturing. All year we saw him making bigger plays, and when we needed him most, he won the game for us. This is why we got him, and this is why we love him. Montee Ball Baby!!!!!!! ~Big Pete

Demaryius Thomas

Seven Catch for 134 yards and a touchdown. The media, maybe, might finally start to realize Optimius Prime is a beast in his own right. He was Tim Tebow's go-to receiver for crying out loud and was successful at it! My only hope is that the Super Bowl hype doesn't overwhelm these young players. I'll leave that problem for Peyton Manning and John Fox, but I really don't see it being as much of a problem for this team as it might for a team that lacks the veteran leadership like the Seattle Seahawks. Oh and AFC CHAMPIONS! ~Tim Lynch

Danny Trevathan

There has been one certainty this season at the linebacker position and amongst names like Wesley Woodyard and Von Miller that certainty has been Danny Trevathan. The AFC Championship Game was no exception, Trevathan who lead the team in tackles this season led the team once more in this game with eight. Obviously wrapping up the ball carrier where he had the opportunity was his main contributing factor, but in the pass defense is where he provided his added value. In a season with many major injuries, it is the consistently healthy who have led this team to the Super Bowl. No one has been more important to the defense than Danny 'The Closer' Trevathan. ~Ian Henson

Champ Bailey

I was wrong about Champ Bailey. I said he was done. Old and injured, and that the end was near. So glad I was wrong. He played a pretty damn good game today. The team needed him to step up big time, and he did. Champ deserves this Super Bowl trip. The team wants to get this ring for Champ. Can't wait to see Champ pick Wilson in the Super Bowl. Speaking of the Super Bowl...THE BRONCOS ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!! ~Scotty Payne

Matt Prater

While a very good offensive effort, few may take away that Prater was the cause of 14 of the 26 points (4 field goals and 2 extra points). This guy had a great game and came through when the offense stalled. While only 1 of his kicks was over 50 yards, making 4 FG's changed the game. In a game that will be remembered mostly for Peyton, Prater was a major reason for the victory and deserves some glory. ~Chris Doll

Terrance Knighton

As I was dropping this content into Kyle's post(he needed a helping hand and I was available), I noticed not a single person on the staff even mentioned Pot Roast. The guy has been an all-pro defensive tackle for the Broncos this year and came up huge in the game against Tom Brady. He is the cog that keeps this defense respectable and at times, lethal. ~Tim Lynch

Earlier this morning Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick decided to say that during yesterdays AFC Championship game that Broncos receiver Wes Welker "deliberately" went out of his way to injure Patriots corner Aqib Talib.

Here's what Belichick said

One of the worst plays I’ve seen. It was a deliberate play by the receiver to take out Aqib. No attempt to get open.

Belichick is saying that a 5'9 185lb receiver who has a recent history of concussion issues went out of his way to "deliberately" take out another player.

Then Belichick implies that Welker should be fined for this play...

I’ll let the league handle the discipline. It’s not for me to decide.

(Via Big Lead)

Here's the play in question. Yes, Welker does run into Talib. Was it on purpose with the intent to injure Talib? I highly, highly doubt that. Welker has a recent history of concussions and is Denver's smallest receiver. If you're going to take out Talib, you send Orange Julius, not Old Spice.

I do believe it could have been a designed pick/rub play. Denver runs a ton of these every game, but it's important to note that even Mike Pereira (former head of NFL officiating) says it was not an illegal pick. Welker's contact happens almost the same instant as Thomas' catch, had he caught it. That's a legal block.

People asking about thej hit on Talib. That is not a foul. Ball was touched by 88 about the same time as contact, Can't be OPI.

Ironically, New England virtually invented the pick play anyway.

As Vic Lombardi points out, New England did the same exact thing a just a series earlier. Receiver Julian Edelman "picked/rubbed" DRC.

— Pete Prisco (@PriscoCBS) January 20, 2014

As Prisco shows here, you can clearly see Edelman doing the same to DRC.

It's no secret here that Wes Welker and coach Belichick had a falling out with each other, which led to Welker leaving New England this past season. I believe Belichick is making this personal. He might actually believe Welker did this on purpose, but that just makes his analysis of the tape after the game as valuable as the analysis he did before it: meaningless.

Bill Belichick, sore loser.

Broncos Country, we're AFC Champs! Come celebrate!

We did it, Broncos Country.

After 15 long, long seasons, we did it.

We're going to the Super Bowl.

Of course, we didn't do all that much. We watched Broncos players and coaches do it.

Peyton Manning did it, with 55 touchdowns in the regular season and 400 yards in the AFC Championship Game. Louis Vasquez did it, not allowing a sack on #18 through 18 games. Terrance Knighton did it, with a team rally late in the season and a 4th down sack of Tom Brady when it mattered. Champ Bailey did it, with a redemptive performance against the New England Patriots that saw him earn his first Super Bowl berth. Adam Gase and Jack Del Rio did it, with brilliant gameplans that showed the Patriots (and everyone else the Broncos faced) were no match for the 2013 Broncos.

John Elway did it, by bringing in Peyton Manning, bringing in Louis Vasquez, bringing in Terrance Knighton, re-signing Champ Bailey.

All these Broncos did it.

But we did it too.

Broncos Country did it with the loudest playoff environment any foe has ever faced. Broncos Country did it with the smartest display of silence - whenever Peyton Manning was on the field - I've ever seen at Mile High. Broncos Country did it with consistent support of Peyton Manning and John Elway and all these players.

"We couldn't have done it without these fans," Peyton Manning said. "And I am so proud of this team; we have been through a lot."

Broncos Country did it, because these players and coaches did it for the fans.

We did it.

But we're not done doing it yet.

There is still one game left. One game to say, "WE REIGN SUPREME!"

Do it one more time, Broncos players. Do it one more time, Broncos coaches. Do it one more time, Broncos Country.

This one's for it all!

Peyton Manning's got your legacy right here. A mistake-free, 400-yard performance from the eventual League MVP led the Broncos to a two-score victory over the AFC's 2nd seed. The Denver Broncos are going to the Super Bowl!

It's been 15 years since I've been able to say it, and it's so thrilling to say.

The Denver Broncos are going to the Super Bowl.

A dominating, mistake-free, 400-yard performance by Peyton Manning led the Broncos to victory in the 2013-2014 AFC Championship Game. Clutch offensive plays by the offensive line, Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas, and Jacob Tamme led Denver to an early lead they would never relent. Denver's defense, led by game-changing plays from Terrance Knighton, Shaun Phillips, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tony Carter, and Robert Ayers, stifled the Patriots throughout the contest.

The Broncos thoroughly dominated the Patriots from start to finish, and they didn't allow the Patriots a touchdown until the fourth quarter.

The Game-Changing Plays and Top Performances

What a team win, emphasis on team. The Broncos beat the Patriots from top to bottom.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie made a huge tackle on the first play of the game, then followed it up with supreme coverage in 3rd down. The Patriots went 3-and-out. They would again a series later.

Tony Carter also had a great game filling in for Chris Harris Jr. on nickel downs. He went down in the fourth quarter; hopefully he's

Peyton Manning hit Demaryius Thomas deep for 29 yards in the first quarter, setting up the first points of the game.

Knowshon Moreno had a lot of good runs, but a few plays were particularly huge. A 3rd and 10 run of 11 yards on the way to a Jacob Tamme touchdown; his screen run for 18 yards behind downfield blocks from Zane Beadles and Louis Vasquez; then, 3rd and 10, Knowshon Moreno ran off right tackle for a huge 28-yard game. The Patriots and Bill Belichick were flat out-coached by Adam Gase and company.

Denver's entire drive to open the second half really sealed the game. It was the Broncos' longest drive of the season, and it was dominating. Julius Thomas and Knowshon Moreno converted third downs on the 14-play, 90-yard drive that ate up 7:08 on the game clock, and Demaryius Thomas capped the drive with a 3-yard TD catch to make it Broncos 20, Patriots 3. The game was all but over.

Speaking of Demaryius Thomas: 7 catches, 134 yards (19.1 average), and a touchdown. Dominant.

A huge 4th down stop in the 3rd quarter kept the Broncos on track. On 4th and 3, Terrance Knighton brought down Tom Brady with a sack that changed the complexion of the game.

Peyton Manning finished with exactly 400 yards passing - his first 400-yard passing game against Bill Belichick's Patriots.

The Denver Broncos defense does what it normally does, gives up points late in the game to make the game closer than it should be. It's time for Peyton Manning to do what he does and put this game away permanently with another touchdown drive. Tom Brady and the New England Patriots will try to come back in heroic fashion. This hope must be squashed immediately.

The Denver Broncos have out game planned the New England Patriots so far in the AFC Championship game, but games are often decided by halftime adjustments. The key for the Broncos is to come out and continue dominating this game at the line of scrimmage and they really need to get some more pass rush in Tom Brady's face.

Peyton Manning has been stellar, but with all of the yards gained in the first half he did not lead the offense to enough points. That needs to change in the second half. And given how that first drive went, things are going exactly according to plan - just need to keep getting touchdowns instead of field goals!

Great start to the AFC Championship game for the Denver Broncos today. Peyton Manning has been stellar thus far, but miscues have kept the score closer than I believe it should be. However, the Orange Crush defense has showed up today and have held Tom Brady and the New England Patriots to very few sustained drives so far today.

The Broncos need to keep the pressure up to forestall any hopes of a comeback by the Patriots. GO BRONCOS!
